Jose Del Rio Pantoja

Chemical Biology PhD candidate at Harvard, born and raised in Puerto Rico. I study proteins that challenge the Central Dogma of Molecular Biology, designing and applying assays to detect amino acids absent from the DNA sequence of proteins. I'm currently developing the first comprehensive proteomic platform to map precise sites of post-translational additions of the amino acid glutamate onto the proteome, an innovation that is uncovering hundreds of putative novel modification sites, redefining protein regulation, and opening new avenues for therapeutic discovery.
